Kabbalah (Hebrew: קַבָּלָה‎, lit. "receiving") is a discipline and school of thought concerned with the mystical aspect of Rabbinic Judaism. It is a set of esoteric teachings meant to explain the relationship between an eternal and mysterious Creator and the mortal and finite universe (His creation). While it is heavily used by some denominations, it is not a denomination in and of itself; it is a set of scriptures that exist outside the traditional Jewish Scriptures. Kabbalah seeks to define the nature of the universe and the human being, the nature and purpose of existence, and various other ontological questions. It also presents methods to aid understanding of these concepts and to thereby attain spiritual realization. Kabbalah originally developed entirely within the realm of Jewish thought and constantly uses classical Jewish sources to explain and demonstrate its esoteric teachings. These teachings are thus held by kabbalists to define the inner meaning of both the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) and traditional rabbinic literature, as well as to explain the significance of Jewish religious observances.

A. Yup. To learn Kabbalah from a true Kabbalist (one of those Rabbis with the long white beards...) one must fit those requirements (with some exceptions). I know two real Kabbalists here in Montreal.

What is Kabbalah? Is Baal Husalam an authentic Kabbalist?
Q. I am trying to find my way spiritually speaking but I don't find anything in charms and red strings. Where should I go?

A. Was the Baal HaSulam an authentic Kabbalist? Yes. Is he considrered a "great Kabbalist"? It depends on to whom you speak- many disagree with some of his teachings. A more important issue is that of those who claim they are teaching Kabbalah using the teachings of Baa HaSulam. here the biggest culprit is "Rav" Michael Laitman- a person who is NOT a Rabbi (yet using the title falsely) who claims to be teaching what the Baal HaSulam taught. However- comparing what the Baal HaSulam wrote vs the English translation and commentary of "Rav" Micahel Laitman available on his website, one thing becomes clear- Michael laitman either did not understand what the Baal HaSulam said or is not even ustilising his works! The Baal HaSulam called for… [cont.]

A. You think because it's called Jewish Mysticism it's something spiritual? Guess again. It is NOT hard to learn the names of the authors are Kabbalah were. Its a matter of history. They are mainly: 1. Eliphas Levi 2. MacGregor Mathers 3. H.P. Blavatsky 4. A.E. Waite; the main authors of books about the Kabbalah. Eliphas Levi is the author who led the Occult Revival of the 1800s, that revived Satanism and Luciferianism. He wrote many books about Ritual Black Magic and how to have contact with Demonic Spirits...because he was seeking them. MacGregor Mathers goes by several names. He is one of the Three founders of the Occult Society - known as the society of the Golden Dawn. This is a demonic society, not because we say so, but… [cont.]
