Has anyone tried a round robin auction to sell their house?
Q. I just was wondering about the success people are having with these round robin auctions verses a Realtor.

A. I found a good Q&A that describes better than I can. Here it is: Questions and Answers about Auctions Q: Why is the home being sold by auction? A: Because an auction provides a fast, efficient, and convenient way to sell a home in a manner that is fair to both buyers and sellers. Q: How does the Round Robin Auction work? A: The Round Robin Auction is a buyer friendly auction that eliminates all the usual risks associated with buying at auction. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be an open house from noon to 4:00 PM to visually inspect the property and sign up to participate in the auction, and to place an initial bid. The actual auction is held by phone on Sunday evening. Starting at 7 pm each bidder will receive a call informing him… [cont.]

Can someone explain to me what round robin bets are? Like if I have 5 fights I want to bet on and do a 5-way?
Q. Also whats the difference between round robin and parlays?
Asked by Eat F - Sat May 23 22:49:55 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Round Robin typically means you have every 4-fight parlay combination. You can lose any ONE of the fights, and you'll still win your bet. Because it's basically like having every 4-fight parlay, depending on which fight you lose, and which underdogs/favorites you picked that won, you will win or lose more or less money accordingly. You won't win as much as a 5-fight parlay, but you'll win more often. So...to break it down...If the following fighters are paired in 5 fights: A vs. B; C vs. D; E vs. F; G vs. H; and I vs. J. You pick fighters A, C, E, G, and I in a Round Robin. You actually have each of the following 4-fight parlays: A/C/E/G, A/C/E/I, A/C/G/I, A/E/G/I, and C/E/G/I. If your bet was $100, you've got $20 on each 4-way… [cont.]

Q. What is a round robin when playing tennis and how do you play and what do you do? Explain as much as possible and as clear as possible.

A. A Round Robin format for tennis is where all the players play each other and then they are ranked most wins to least or best to worst. At this point you can have #1 play #4 and #2 play #3 with the winners playing for the title or championship. If you have many players say 32 then you can break it down to 4 sections of 8 where you have the 8 play each other once and rank best to worst but now only the top one from each sector advances. Winner of section 1 takes on winner of section 2 and winner of section 3 plays winner of section 4 with the two winners playing in the final. In the Master's Cup or year ending mens tourni the top 8 Mens singles players are invited to play in this format as are the top doubles teams. They are divided into… [cont.]

How do 'round-robin' proxies work?
Q. I am reading about client identification and understand that using an IP address to identify a client is not always a good idea - I know that AOL uses something called 'round-robin' proxies and that this can make the same client appear to be coming from a different IP address with each request - but I'm just curious to know how they work. tie between two players in a round robin tennis tournament ?
Q. I need the rule (and the link to the web page source) to see in a round robin tournament when there is a tie between two players, who wins... PLEASE, send me the page link or the info where you got my aswer. thanks!!! what I mean is a tie when you finish all your matches, and you end with the same number of matches won and maches lost with another player.
Asked by A.S. - Wed Oct 15 20:15:32 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Well in this case there are 4 main criteria 1- First they take in to account your head to head record against the other player, if you have a win over him then you move in to the next round. 2- In case more than 2 players are tied ( like it was the case in Masters cup 2006 where Roddick, Ljubicic and Nalbandian had all won 1 match each and lost 2 each, then it comes down to the number of sets won, the player with a higher no of sets won moves in to the next round, if all have same no of sets won then they will see the percentage of sets won. e.g. of this criteria, in 2006 masters cup Roddick has lost to Roger in 3 sets won againat Ljubicic in 3 and lost to Nalbandian in straight sets so he ended up with 3 sets won and 5 lost. … [cont.]

In a round-robin tournament every player plays every other player. Suppose we give each person 2 points for a?
Q. In a round-robin tournament every player plays every other player. Suppose we give each person 2 points for a win, 0 points for a loss and 1 point for a tie. I f 5 people are in the tournament, find the sum of their scores after all the matches have been played. (Does this depend upon the outcome of the games?)
Asked by intellectual - Fri Nov 13 04:43:36 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The sum of the points is 20 ; when there are 5 players , the number of matches played is 10 ( since A will play the remaining 4 , while B plays the remaining 3 , C plays the remaining 2 , while D plays the remaining 1 match ) Since every match has either a winner and a loser , or two tied players , and since the tie earns each player 1 point ( the same as the result of a win and a loss ) , the total of 20 points does not depend on the outcome of a game. If a tie had earned each player less than a point or more than 1 point but less than 2 points , then the total would have depended on the outcome of a game.

A. I usally avoid questions like this but let me first say that Dom should stick to investing and not denegrate peoples opinions. Mike Tyson was fast and punched hard, probably hardest ever. I dont know none of us will but I do know this, Tyson could never fight backing up, had NO stamina, and if he couldn't bully u he would collapse. Anyone here actually think Rock, ALI, or Louis would be intimidated by a bully with a lisp??? Im a Marciano homer and I have no qualms about it. He would take Ali by dec. There were very few athletes let alone fighters who trained like the Rock. Pure heart ,will and desire. His workouts would kill most fighters nowadays. This would be a great fight but I would go with Rock here. Louis would demolish Tyson… [cont.]

How to do a single elimination round robin?
Q. can anyone help me? i need this for our final examinations in PE class. My crazy teacher did'nt teach us how to do this cuz he's so lazy!!! can anyone help?
Asked by hifushvu - Tue Mar 6 08:22:04 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. These terms are contradictory. If you do a single-elim tournament, you play 1vs.8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6, and 4 vs. 5. The 1-8 winner plays the 4-5 winner in the semis. The other semi is the winners of the other two first-round games. Single-elimination means that you do not play loser's bracket games. Lose and go home. Round Robin means that everyone plays everyone else once and you create standings. That is basically what a regular-season schedule is.

How do you arrange golfers in a round robin tournament?

They will play n rounds each, where n is 4,5,6 or 7 The golfers go out four at a time in three groups. My goal is to arrange the foursomes so that I get the best distribution of "meetings". Define "best" as follows (or suggest your own definition): I define a meeting is when a particular player is in a group with another particular player. e,g player A plays with player B. I define the number of times two players meet as n(A,B) 1. Maximize the minimum number of times that each meeting occurs. i.e. maximize min(n(A,B) 2. Asked by Kate - Mon Nov 23 01:45:40 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Alright here is how it goes: -The top 8 players qualify for the World Tour Finals. -Those 8 players are randomly divided into two groups of 4. -The groups this year are Group A: Djokovic, Nadal, Davydenko, and Soderling and Group B: Federer, Del Potro, Murray, and Verdasco -Everyone in each group plays each other, so each player plays 3 matches in round robin play. -The two players with the best records from each group advance to the semifinals. -The best record from Group A plays the second best record from Group B and vice versa. -The winners of the two semifinal matches play in the Finals. I hope that helped.

Can you count games only in a round robin tennis tournaments, i.e.sets are not counted?
Q. We had a mixed doubles round robin tennis tournaments last weekend. There were only 5 couples. Each couple played with every other couple for only one set. The top two couples go to the final. My partner and I lost one set, won 3 sets. The other couple in the finals lost two sets, won 2 sets. Apparently only the games have been counted, so we were not in the finals. Does this make any sense?

A. Well his chances have improved i would say as rafa is 1 guy who has a big psychological advantage over Fed. But honestly he wasn't gonna pose a threat if he had played given his physical condition. The only real change will come in terms of seeding every 1 will jump 1 spot up ,and Simon Replaces Rafa, with Blake on standby by in case there is another withdrawal. Now the seeds will look like this 1 Roger Federer 2-Novak Djokovic 3-Andy Murray 4-Nikolay Davydenko 5-Roddick 6-Tsonga 7-Del Potro 8-Simon So 1 and 2 cant be in the same group, 1 will be with 3 or 4 , Now Davydenko becomes the no 4 seed which makes life easier as well cause if Rafa had not withdrawn then Murray would be seed no 4 hope Fed gets Davydenko in his group. … [cont.]
