Q. What are the advantages and disadvantages of a migrant worker? My daughter has an assignment in school and they are supposed to ask some people regarding the advantages and disadvantages of a migrant worker.

A. It depends on what you mean by migrant workers! If you mean those that have gone through the legal system to come to our Country to work then like any other worker here they provide a service in which they are paid for. In that way they are a convenient and willing group of workers that can fill a labor need. If by migrant worker you mean an illegal immigrant then I see no advantage that they might bring to our Country. They are a burden to our health services, to our welfare systems and place an undue burden on just about every aspect of our Social system. Since 9-11-01 over 50,000 good American Citizens have died as a direct result of illegal aliens. This is almost as many good men and women as we lost in the whole Vietnam war and… [cont.]

Q. I've been trying to convince my parents to let me use an epilator, and they said until I could give them the full list of advantages and disadvantages of using one, I am stuck with shaving. Can you guys give me some good advantages and disadvantages of using an epilator?

A. I hope you have very fine leg hair because those damn things HURT! I had one long ago and was never able to epilate an area over about the size of a quarter without having to quit. I've never known anyone who used one regularly or did their whole legs. Advantages: Hair removal lasts longer than shaving, wax, or depilatory cream No expense for razor blades or shaving cream anymore Disadvantages: Painful Possible ingrown hair(s)

What are some disadvantages of driving an economical car?
Q. A economical car is a car that uses less gas than most cars. Meaning each gallon of gas would travel farther. Everyone thinks economical cars are much better because they're better on gas and you could save a lot of gas money. But I want to know what are the disadvantages of having a economical car? please give details and enough information on this. Is there anything that's better about car that's a gas guzzler? What does it mean if a car is fun to drive?
Asked by Anthony - Mon Aug 4 21:08:00 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. There are no disadvantages of driving an economical car. However most people equate a small car with an economical car, and a large car as being non-economical. In most cases this is true, however this will depend on what you need to get done. Are you going to bethe only person in the vehicle going to work. If this is so then a small vehicle is right for you. If you need to transport 4 kids and their equipment to a game, then a large vehicle may be right for you. Look at what your needs are and then find the most cost effective vehicle that fits your needs. Why drive two small vehicles when one large vehcle can get the job done.

A. There are advantages and disadvantages to everything in life. I don't understand your situation financially, therefore I can not answer your question about subprime mortgage. Sub-prime mortgage was and is an option available or was selected by those that wanted to purchase a house and the program fit their financial situation at the time. Depending on your financial condition, credit report and other factors will determine if you get a sub-prime loan, an adjustable rate mortgage a 30 year fixed rate and FHA or a "A" loan. You should not zero in on a certain mortgage program because everyone tell you this is the way to go. Don't jump into the fire because everyone says it is the way to go and we fell all warm and rosy. What are the disadvantages to renting out to a tenant that pays via DSS?
Q. If you are a landlord and you accept DSS, what does that mean exactly and what are the disadvantages?
Asked by Barney - Mon May 18 10:46:25 2009 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments
A. If the DSS is going to pay the rent, then it means that the tenant is usually somebody relying upon government financial support. Quite often these tenants may not look after the premises as well as the landlord would expect. Frequently the tenants come from a lower socioeconomic group and therefore cannot afford to maintain the rented property in a good state of repair, their priorities tend to be more towards their everyday living needs, food ,clothing, entertainment, and creature comforts, not keeping the accommodation provided by the government in tip top shape. Usually DSS will pay less than the top market rental rate for the property. One positive factor is that it is the government which pays the rent to the landlord, and not the… [cont.]

What are the disadvantages of flashing a smart phone?
Q. I use MetroPCS. I love their low monthly rate but hate their phones. So I am thinking about buying a CDMA smart phone for another network from eBay, and then flash it over to MetroPCS. What are the disadvantages of flashing a smart phone? Does it compromise certain features, speed, etc?
Asked by The Round Peg - Wed Apr 28 04:07:29 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Apparently yes =x I wanted to flash a Palm Pre, but I was told that I would not be able to get unlimited web on it. So basically I would be able to talk and text. That pretty much discouraged me, but perhaps the wi-fi would have worked? You could always ask MetroPCS seeing as I only asked on a Palm forum. That would most likely be the only downside. The only other thing would be that you wouldn't really be able to update your phone or you might break it, so you'd have to ask for professional help if you ever need a firmware update =x

A. Can be less exciting to drive on certain types of road. Like nice canyon roads with lots of twists and turns at multiple angles a proper manual can be a lot of fun (if you know how to use it correctly.lol) You don't have as much control on the overall powerband (though you can manually shift gears with an auto when going up or down a steep road if necessary, it's not the same). That's why you typically get better acceleration in muscle cars with a manual vs a muscle car with an automatic, with a manual you can get the revs up higher easier to get full power output, on an automatic, it will usually shift before you hit peak power. However, there are instances of cars with automatics that actually do better. For instance the new Cadillac… [cont.]

What are the disadvantages for rejecting a credit card's rate increase?
Q. My mom has a credit card and got a letter from them saying they will increase her APR from 20.74% to 23.99%. Also on it, it says we can reject the changes, but they will close the account. Can we still pay the bill by installment using the old rate? And plus what other disadvantages are we not seeing here if reject the changes? And also will my mom get a low credit rating for this?
Asked by LOVER - Wed Oct 14 00:19:57 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. There is no disadvantage other than the loss of the use of the card. You should be able to pay off exactly as you are paying off now, by installment at the lower rate. I don't believe they can demand full payment of the account. Your credit record will not be harmed. You will be paying off per your agreement. You simply are not allowing them to modify the agreement to their advantage. If I were carrying any kind of substantial balance, I would close the account and pay off under the old terms. Both rates are outrageous, but the new one is especially bad. Good luck.

There are so many car customization magazines on rag racks all over and every genre of car crafting is covered by a series of mags. go pick up a copy of import tuner, read it cover to cover, and ask questions later

What are dangers, disadvantages, and advantages to biological modification of genes to change a human?
Q. There has been discussion in the scientific world of being able to change the characteristics and traits of humans. Talk of being able to make us see infrared or echo-locate by taking genes from certain other organisms is very interesting. Also interesting is the prospect of parents being able to pick and choose the characteristics of their offspring (e.g. blond hair, musically talented, tall...). What are some advantages and disadvantages to that? How would it change society? Give references to the movie GATTACA if possible. Answer this question in 20 minutes and I'll give you best answer ASAP.

A. At present, such talk is mere speculation. We simply don't know enough yet. When we do, we will take over control of the evolution of the species. Those who would try to regulate against this are just 'shoveling against the tide`. As to the movie - it's fantasy, enjoy it as such.

Q. Any disadvantages involving costs, environmental issues, years to build, failure of past plants, etc would be great. Please include any website you used to gather information. Big thanks to anyone answering this question. I'm sorry if it may be under the wrong topic, but really it could go under global warming, science (its recommended one), politics, anything really.

A. The main advantages of thorium reactors are: The possibility of utilising a very abundant resource which has hitherto been of so little interest that it has never been quantified properly. The production of power with few long-lived transuranic elements in the waste. Reduced radioactive wastes generally. The problems include: The high cost of fuel fabrication, due partly to the high radioactivity of U-233 chemically separated from the irradiated thorium fuel. Separated U-233 is always contaminated with traces of U-232 (69 year half-life but whose daughter products such as thallium-208 are strong gamma emitters with very short half-lives). Although this confers proliferation resistance to the fuel cycle, it results in increased costs. … [cont.]
