You say the season number and then specify the episode that falls under it. sometimes a TV show is denoted in it's episode number. For example Daria episode 205, indicates the episode is from the 2nd season given by the number 2 at the beginning and the 5 indicating that it's the fifth episode of that season. a series is the sum of all of the seasons of the show. That's why when you hear "series" finale, that means the show is done. Either finished or canceled. "season" finale just mean that the show has finished a season.
